Andrew Hunter's mother

Here are the birth, marriage and death certificates of Andrew Hunter's mother, from whom he alleges he inherited his clutch of titles.

She was born Edwyna Roussel-Cossey in New Zealand, on 29 November 1910.  Her father, George Cossey, a blacksmith, had by then combined his wife's maiden name with his own.

Edwyna's various subsequent changes of name are confusing, but consistent with a woman described as "not being short of imagination".

She married at East Wittering, Sussex in 1931 as "Edwyna Roussel Cossey, commonly known as Edwyna Roussel" - i.e. her mother's maiden name; perhaps she was using this as a stage name, having come to England to further her musical studies.  In honour of her marriage, it seems her father was promoted from blacksmith to 'surgeon'.

At some stage after her divorce from Geoffrey Hunter, Edwyna apparently adopted the surname of 'de Guise', along with her two children.

Edwyna died at Dover in 1984.
